I thank all of you who helped to make our trip to Washington, D.C. on Saturday for the Millions For Reparations March a great success. Through your efforts POP was able to send four full bus loads of people to the event. This was the first time in the history of our organization that our group singularly sent four buses full of people to an event anywhere.
This was a tremendous challenge for POP organizationally, politically, and financially. There were those who doubted our ability to rise to the occassion. However, we tackled the challenge head on and emerged victorious!
There are so many that must be thanked because so many of you made contributions. All of your contributions no matter how great or small contributed to the totality of our success.
I want to thank all of you who were able to make the trip with us; people who made donations; sponsors that paid for others to go; those that helped with the mailing; members of the phone squad and others who made phone calls; those that distributed literature; people who helped spread the word; the bus captains, those that were on security; members who provided refreshments for those on the trip; the reporters from WBAI who traveled with us; members of the Women In Support of the Million Man March, Black Cops Against Police Brutality, Civil Rights Watch, Blacks For Social Justice, and other organizations that traveled with us; members of POP who could not go but helped get us on our way that morning; and those who gave peole rides home after the trip. Please forgive me if I over looked anyone.
Again, thank you all so very much for your support and assistance in making August 17th a tremendous success. I hope you will allow me to call upon you again in the future.
Power to the people!
Sincerely,
Lawrence Hamm
